Comfort Zone was first performed at The Bedford Hotel, Melbourne on 28 September 2005 with the following cast: Characters:

Deirdre ... Alexis Beebe
Yes-Man ... Timothy Wotherspoon
Shereen
... Melanie Sharpe
Grantley
... Stephen Sparke
Brian
... Izeqiel McCoy

Location
The upstairs office is located in an inner city small time government subsidised theatre. The inner suburban surroundings tell a story of an alternative life style to that of middle or outer suburban cultures.

Relationships
Deirdre, Yes-Man and Sheeren have a close, yet strained and untrusting professional relationship. They work together because they have to; one without the other wouldn't survive in this cut-throat theatre industry. Each knows a secret about the other and it is this knowledge that keeps them together.Brian is the forever struggling playwright who would kill his own grandmother in order to be professionally published. Grantley is the poor messenger boy sent from the Government department who has decided to shut down this inept theatrical disaster; the very same department who financially funds Deirdre's theatrical operations.

On Stage
This play is written around a very simple set with an exit to stage right (a window for Grantley to enter through), an exit to the kitchen, stage left and down stage (or through the audience) an exit to the down stairs theatre auditorium.
